How old do I have to be to start driving?

By English law, you have to be at least 17 years old to start learning how to drive a car, with exception to disability who may be eligible ot start driving at 16.

Car insurance completely depends on many different factors including your age, area you live, the car you want to insure, the type of insurance you want and more.

Can I learn to drive on my own?

No you cannot. To learn how to drive you need to have an instructor that is over 21 and has passed their driving test for more than five years. Although, the DVLA recommends finding an approved driving instructor.

Can I start learning before I take my theory test?

You sure can! You can learn to drive the moment that you have your provisional driving licence. However, you cannot take your practical driving test without passing your theory test.

Booking directly through the DVLA website, the theory test comes to £23.00. Make sure that you book direct and do not book through other companies as they’ll charge you a booking fee.

Should I learn to drive manual or automatic?

Manual is usually the standard for our students learning how to drive, however we do offer automatics. This may be geared towards students that just want to pass as soon as possible or do not feel comfortable driving manuals.
